Moddershall Oaks, The Review
This October, we were super excited to visit the famously tranquil Spa Resort, Moddershall Oaks. We were invited down to Staffordshire countryside, for an overnight stay, a taster of the autumnal spa treatments and of course, that fresh, crisp country air that we don’t tend to acquire in the big city. Moddershall Oaks offers a number of spa packages to suit your mood, whether that’s a full day of pampering with a lakeside lunch, an overnight stay or a half day with afternoon tea and a dip in their heated outdoor pool.
The spa is set in 70 acres of parkland and woodland, so it’s the ideal country get-away. In the afternoon of arrival, we decided to hire out some bikes (free for guests!) and charge to the woodlands to discover the leafy land. The atmosphere that surrounds Moddershall Oaks, is tremendously peaceful and you’ll find yourself drifting off at the sight and audio of the calming setting. There’s also a tennis court by the woods, with free equipment available to hire, it would be rude not to...
After all that movement, we had reached our quota and were ready to begin the big chill out. A visit to the spa was needed and to celebrate Autumn, Moddershall Oaks are currently offering limited edition summer-themed treatments (check them out here), and of course we decided to give them a go! We also visited the sauna, the outdoor heated vitality pool, lounged/slept on the super soft beds and the steam room.
We enjoyed a lovely 2-course meal in the restaurant. We went for the super delicious baked cod to start and for mains we indulged in the Chicken Risotto and Venison. The meals were beautifully presented and tasted extremely fresh. The service was great and the room was filled with a warm, comfortable ambience.
We had a peaceful overnight stay in the hotel…the beds were utter bliss. The room was spacious, stylish and serene, and stayed at the perfect temperature throughout the night. The interior was subtlety glam with rustic twists with countryside gurgles.
After a packed weekend of relaxing, walking, cycling and playing tennis, we felt fully energised and rested…we weren’t quite ready to go back to the big smoke!
