The Royal Crescent Hotel Afternoon Tea

You may have read about the glorious afternoon tea we had in Bath with the Royal Crescent hotel and thought is that all they did in Bath? Well no, there is more…we visited the wonderful Thermae Spa and had a lovely stay with The Queensbury Hotel.

Imagine a hotel, which combines antique heritage with classy, contemporary comfort. The Queensberry Hotel - run by Laurence & Helen Beere - is set in the centre of Georgian Bath and, with its gorgeous design, slightly uneven layout and manner of trendy serenity, is as far from the corporate hotel experience as you're likely to find. The spacious bedrooms offer deep armchairs, marble bathrooms and a range of modern luxuries. Sumptuously furnished sitting rooms add to The Queensberry's appeal and allow access to the very attractive and peaceful walled gardens. With each individually-designed room like a guest-room in the home of stylish friends, and with all Bath's attractions a stroll away, The Queensberry is the perfect base for exploring the city.

Bath is the only place in the UK that has natural hot springs. In all other traditional spa towns, the spa waters are cold. The Thermae Bath Spa is built around these natural springs to create a true spa, in the original sense of the word. The heritage of the site, and the way that the spa makes the most of the waters is outstanding. No wonder there are sometimes queues around the block; go early or late to make the most of this unique spa, as it can get busy. The two separate spa buildings house the Cross Bath where the natural spring rises to the surface, and the New Royal Bath, where you can find the modern pools and thermal facilities. Many of the treatments make use of the natural thermal waters, and both the spa days and treatments are pleasingly affordable. Don't miss the dramatic rooftop pool; swim while looking out across the city to the hills.

They offer unbelievably relaxing treatments to truly get you in the serene spirit; we opted in for the full body massage using Aromatherapy Associates. It was absolutely wonderful. The therapists were extremely welcoming, soft-spoken and incredibly good at their jobs. Once the treatment was over they offer solutions for any areas of built up tension and a cool drink to perk up.

They also have a great restaurant with a delicious menu that would appeal to everyone. The food was fresh, scrumptious and definitely satisfying. The whole day was so reviving and we know we will be back again.
